“Buldak” is a compound of the Korean words Bul (fire) and Dak (chicken): what is meant by it is a fiery hot chicken dish. In 2011 Samyang decided to bring noodles with Buldak flavor to market: “Samyang Buldak”. They are now among the brand's best-selling products.
Thanks to the Fire Noodle Challenge, the Buldak noodles even became a viral phenomenon: in this challenge you have to eat a full bowl of “Fire Noodles” on camera without capitulating to the heat. But if you do not tolerate spicy dishes well, you can simply take less sauce, for example, and then it is less hot as well. We love Korean noodles above all else: as a child it was even Dschihä's wish to marry the son of the big Korean instant noodle company Nongshim. Then she could have eaten noodles every day without anyone criticizing her for it - and free of charge at that!
There are so many different noodle varieties in Korea that you could eat a new flavor every day for weeks. Among the best known are the Samyang Buldak noodles, which have even achieved international fame! In our opinion they are a good way to get to know Korean culture a little from Germany.
