The Dalgona magazine
No trip - not even a culinary one - is really complete without a little cultural education. That is exactly why we have put two magazines into your Dalgona box, in which you will find all sorts of interesting things worth knowing about Korea.
Facts and figures
In the enclosed magazine you will of course find all the important details about the sweets, such as ingredients, nutritional values and best-before dates.
But much more important is the extra information about each individual item. Because many of the sweets are a special tradition in Korean society or are served on particular occasions. You can read more about that in your Dalgona box!
Tasty recipes
Did you know that the Dalgona box gets its name from a cookie? Dalgona cookies were popular street snacks in South Korea in the 70s. They consist mostly of sugar and baking powder and are decorated with fancy shapes.

Hi, we're the Dalgona team!
Dschihä from Korea & Philipp from Germany. We have been married for over 5 years and live together with our little daughter in Germany.
We would love to bring you closer to Korean culture. That is why we decided to put together a box with lots of different Korean sweets. Because sweets are a great way to learn something about another culture.
But bringing a box of Korean sweets to Germany was harder than we thought: we spent many hours in Korean supermarkets finding the right sweets and then working out a way to get them to Germany. It was pretty difficult at times, and even though Dschihä did not want to admit it afterwards, to look cool: sometimes she was close to tears when another great sweet was not available or something else went wrong.
But now we have finally done it: our box with Korean sweets is ready!
Some of the snacks contain ingredients of animal origin such as gelatin and are therefore not suitable for a vegetarian, vegan or Muslim diet. Other sweets are made from purely plant-based ingredients, so there is something for everyone.
